Stay at Rabom....below Lachen

We were heading towards the Lachen.It was evening time.We were just passing adjacent to the Teestha River.We felt of taking some rest at the bank of the wonderfull river.The River was covered by beautiful hills all around it.The scenic beauty is inexpressible...I wish i could spent my whole lifetime there....

Then driver said that there is no one at Lachen & whole village is deserted because in rainy season a worm is found in the hills whiich is used for medicinal purpose.This worm has a leaf above it & is constantly stirring its leaf...This is very costly.So the whole village is out to find that worm...Hence we stayed at local's house in Rabom near Lachen.....



In evening we went for a walk in Rangpo..By God I had never imagined that this kind of place existed on earth...We also visited the power station of rabom(shown here)...........
We stayed there in night ,In the whole hills goes in the arms of the dark.....Even u can't see ur nose...Not even a single light..We had our dinner at the house we stayed of Tibetan refugees...
Then on next day at 5 a.m we have to go to world's highest lake GURDONGMAR lake at 17100ft.................

d trip to north sikkim begins.......

After break fast in room of "HOTEL DISHA"we went for a walk to d Ropeway of Gangtok .In b/w we did some shopping of Umbrellas (much needed in july)...
Since we went in Off season there was very little crowd at d ropeway....

After too & fro round of d trolly of d ropeway we went to d hotel & packed our bags for d north sikkim....
very Important.....bfr u head 4 north sikkim take bread, jam, a carton of mineral water...then we headed towards north sikkim....
the beuty of the surrondings was awesome..,hills hills every where ...
The "Teeshta" river was flowing adjacent to us...That seen stole my heart....
We first reached the seven "sister water falls"...That is a great,huge & beautiful waterfall,or probably waterfalls..


Then aftr spending some time at d Waterfalls, we resumed our journey ....
Aftr travelling some time we reachd "Phudong Monestry"......D monestry dedicated to KARMAPA Lama(d Lama created by CHINA)...
We offrd prayer at d monestry.....D monestry was really beutiful....Above d Monestry is a ver popular school "Jawahar lal Nehru School" getting admission into dat school is really tough....Unfortunately we couldn't visit dat..


Than aftr d phodong Monestry we resumed our journey towards "LACHEN"....

From NJP to GANGTOK d Capital of Sikkim

To Visit North Sikkim you First have to reach New Jalpai gudi Station from Train .Then hire a bolero or Sumo (The car should be heavy & Big in Size so that it can be stable on the hills) .

We reached Gangtok at around 3 p.m on 5th july then we took some rest & went for local shopping markets.Gangtok have 2 famous markets M G market(Mahatma Gandhi Market) and lal Market.

The Famous MG Market can be seen in the <----picture....

For Local sight seeing only a Maruti van can be hired with not more than 4 passengers in it...(That's the rule of govt. of sikkim)

We did our local sight seeing on return from north sikkim.....The market are very nice here with a little margin of bargaining.....
